T12 – Creativity Skills

WHY IS CREATIVITY AN IMPORTANT SKILL?

Creativity is important for artists because it’s the foundation of the artistic process. It allows you to unlock your artistic potential and generate original ideas by making connections between seemingly unrelated concepts and approaching problems in innovative and unexpected ways.

It is through creativity that you can push boundaries, challenge norms, and create work that is truly unique and impactful. It allows you to express your unique perspective and experiences, to connect with your audiences on a deeper level, and to inspire others through your work. Without it, art can become stagnant and repetitive.

Creative skills can help you be more adaptable and flexible in a constantly changing world, and to find new opportunities for growth and success. These skills are essential for you because they allow you to produce meaningful work and succeed in a highly competitive and rapidly evolving field.

The emphasis of this module is on creativity and how it can be fostered. Specific focus is given on the advantages it has for professionals in the Creative and Cultural Sector (CCS) as it is a vital skill, enabling you as an artist to innovate, think across disciplines, adapt to changing circumstances, engage audiences, and collaborate effectively in order to create innovative and impactful works of art.

The module also proposes some techniques and approaches that contribute to the development of creative skills.
